On/Off Hire Bunker and Condition Survey at Abidjan Port
Independent bunker quantity and vessel condition at delivery and redelivery, so the charter party position is documented before it is disputed.

The bunker figure agreed at delivery and the one agreed at redelivery decide who pays for the difference, and the condition recorded at each end decides who pays for the damage. Both are cheap to establish at the time and expensive to argue about afterwards.
Marine Surveys Africa attends on hire and off hire on behalf of owners, charterers, brokers and P and I interests. We sound and measure all bunker tanks, calculate quantities on board with temperature and density correction, and record the condition of holds, hatch covers, decks, cranes and accommodation in a report both parties can rely on.
Where the parties want it, we attend as a joint surveyor with representatives of both sides present, which is usually the fastest route to an agreed figure and the least likely to end in a claim.
